Georgian Energy Sector Reform (GESR) with budget 8,44 Million Euro aims at strengthening the country’s energy security, at improving energy efficiency of public, industrial, and residential buildings and relevant infrastructure, and, in line with EU directives, to support the ongoing reforms of the electricity market and endorse the further development of renewable energy. Under the program, strengthening the capacity of the parties involved in the energy market reform process, strengthening the legal framework for energy efficiency and energy efficiency in buildings, support of renewable energy development and capacity strengthening of key market players in the Electricity market is planned.

As a subcontractor to the consortium led by Gopa Intec WEG experts are involved in the following components:

  • Developing and maintaining an inventory of central government buildings in compliance with the requirements outlined in the new Energy Efficiency Directive as part of the Clean Energy for All Europeans package.
  • Support operationalisation of Monitoring and Verification Platform in Georgia to measure the progress towards Energy Efficiency target.
  • Support developmen tof concept for establishment of energy efficiency implementation body
  • Development of Hydrogen strategy for Georgia
