Donella H Meadows "Thinking in Systems. A Primer" book presentation

On January 17, Ilia State University hosted a presentation of Donella Meadows' book "Thinking in Systems - A Primer". The book has been translated and published by WEG and Iliauni joint efforts.

The book describes the systematic structures that characterize the physical, ecological, social, economic, or political systems around us, and the simple feedback that results in complex and often unexpected behavior of systems. It helps us to see behaviors beyond events and beyond the behaviors - their dispositional structures and efforts to improve - address these systemic structures. With its diverse themes and examples, the publication addresses a number of issues of public-political or economic life and is of interest to a wide range of readers from the academic, public, non-governmental or private sectors.

The book is an introduction to the systems thinking and system dynamics, which is becoming increasingly relevant in sustainable development, climate or other global problems research, planning. The publication is an Amazon bestseller in systems theory, and was also bestseller in bussiness category.

The book was presented by the translator Nino Bardzimishvili and the translation's scientific editor Murman Margvelashvili. At the end a discussion was held on the possibilities of practical application of systematic approaches.
