The aim of the project is to support Georgian energy sector’s decision makers in taking informed policy decisions and strengthen capacity of Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE), Ministry of Energy and other state agencies and CSOs in energy planning tools.

Specific objectives:

  • Select and develop electricity production model that will best serve key Georgian power sector's policy makers’ needs. Develop electricity production projection for the next 10-15 years
  • Perform capacity building of energy sector’s key stakeholders in electricity production modeling using selected model through their direct active involvement in the planning process. Perform capacity building of other energy sector’s stakeholders and CSOs on electricity production planning techniques

The project will deliver a new electricity production model, configured and operational to represent Georgian power system, together with qualified trained personnel with necessary skills to operate the model and analyze its results. The model will be selected to best fit the key stakeholders’ needs and be compatible with their existing systems. It will be able to answer the questions and address the issues that are currently beyond the reach of existing analytical and planning capacities of the key energy sector's satekholders.
