ENERGY SECURITY GEORGIAN PERSPECTIVE

On 25th of August, in the city of Turku, Finland a seminar “Energy Security in Wider Europe” organized by the Pan-European Institute took place. The seminar was devoted to representatives of Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan. World Experience for Georgia (WEG) was represented on seminar by Giorgi Mukhigulishvili – researcher in energy studies.

Giorgi made a presentation of a paper – “Energy Security in Georgian Perspective” prepared in collaboration with director of energy studies of WEG Dr. Murman Margvelashvili. In the following discussion the main Georgia’s energy security in the context of regional energy cooperation and political stability perspectives were discussed. Director of Pan-European Institute Mr. Kari Liuhto made comments on the presentation and expressed interest in further cooperation with WEG in energy studies.
