Training Fellowship at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

One of the important objectives of IAEA is to provide technical assistance to developing countries. IAEA assists Georgian Ministry of Energy to develop energy planning capacity and strategy by providing technical assistance and fellowships aimed to train energy specialists in different models designed for energy planning.  Based on WEG experience in energy sector planning in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources it was invited to participate in one of the training fellowship programs.

SSP/RESMD Strategic Planning workshop, Kiev, January 23-27, 2012

In the framework of Long-term Strategic Planning project international workshop on MARKAL model improvements and scenario development was held on January 23-27 in Kiev. Representatives of 9 project participant countries attended workshop.   The workshop was devoted to model improvements, development and runs of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency scenarios for CO2 emissions mitigation analysis. The results presented by country teams were discussed on the common roundtable.

Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgia National Platform 3rd working group studies

In the framework of Open Society Georgia Foundation program for the support of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgia National Platform development, CENN and WEG are conducting a joint project for development of activities of the Working Group Three.  Studies on important issues in energy sector, environment and climate change in the context of Georgia’s European integration were conducted as part of the project.
