Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgia National Platform 3rd working group studies

In the framework of Open Society Georgia Foundation program for the support of Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum Georgia National Platform development, CENN and WEG are conducting a joint project for development of activities of the Working Group Three.  Studies on important issues in energy sector, environment and climate change in the context of Georgia’s European integration were conducted as part of the project. Training Workshop of NATELI Project

On December 8,  2011, WEG organized a training workshop for presentation and discussion of the results of study conducted under NATELI program of USAID/WInrock Int. in two typical residential  buildings of Saburtalo district of Tbilisi. The study was devoted to energy efficiency improvements and use of renewable energy in residential block buildings of Tbilisi.

 

The workshop was attended by residents of project buildings, vendors of energy efficient materials, equipment and technologies, representatives of City Hall and the Ministry of Energy and Natural resources as well as representatives of donor organizations and technical experts.

Seminar for a group of representatives of Ministry of Economic Regulation of Kyrgyzstan

A group of representatives of Ministry of Economic Regulation of Kyrgyzstan visited in Tbilisi by invitation of International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET). The main goal of the visit was to familiarize the group members with completed and ongoing reforms in Georgia and to share the corresponding experience.

A seminar on practical issues of Energy sector reforms in Georgia was held within the scope of visit. Murman Margvelashvili presented the history, logic and sequence of reforms in the energy sector of Georgia. The current situation in energy sector of Kyrgyzstan and the need for reforms was also discussed.  The seminar went in a friendly atmosphere with active exchange of thoughts and experiences.
